La Poderosa (2006 Trek 1000)

The Bike
I would advise skipping this if you don't care that much about bikes.

A special thanks goes out to folks at Jones Bikes in Long Beach, CA (http://jonesbicycles.com/). Without them I would be writing a blog about driving my car down the coast. I would often attempt an upgrade or fix and then give up and take it in.

The total weight of my bike is approximately 70 pounds.

Customizations:
USA
Surly Long Haul Trucker Fork (provides eyelets for a front rack)
Topeak Road Morph™ G raod bike pump
Topeak TourGuide Handle Bar Bag DX
Planet Bike Blinky 3H Helmet light
British
Brooks B.17 seat (because everyone said I should)
German Ortlieb Front-Roller Classic front panniers
Tubus Tara front rack
Continental Ultra Gatorskin Tire - 700 x 25 (rear tire - as big as I could fit)
Schwalbe Marathon Plus 700 x 28 (yes, I know it's bigger than my rear wheel)
French
Mavic 32 spoke front and rear wheel rims
Canadian
Axium rear panniers
Japan
Shimano Linear Pull Front Brakes (I needed bigger brakes for the bigger fork)

Somewhere else
Generic back rack
Tons of reflective stickers
